As an Alberici intern I was given the opportunity to be exposed to a $1,000,000,000+ project site and gain exceptional experience that will greatly benefit my career. At the Holcim Cement Plant I was able to be a part of one the largest projects Alberici has ever seen. The amount of learning that can be done over one summer with this company is far more than what is gained in the classroom, due solely to the firsthand experience you get on site. I have been able to work very closely with many of Alberici’s employees in the heavy industrial industry and now look forward to an exciting career in the construction world.

Working at Alberici this summer has been a great experience. I work at the Buzzi River Cement plant in the Heavy Industrial market. While this internship was not what I originally expected, I have grown to enjoy it and have learned a lot. The skills I’ve learned are really multidisciplinary and I feel strongly that every thing I’ve learned will help me later on down the road, no matter where I end up.

This internship was a great way to learn what really happens on a job site and what it takes to get the project completed.  I received hands on experience in all aspects of project management and was given real responsibilities, not busy-work.  This internship helped me learn far more than what I learned in school, teaching me real-world application and confidence.

This past summer I worked in the Healthcare market at the St. Clare Health Center.  It was my second summer with Alberici and it reaffirmed my desire to work for a company like this.  They are strong believers in “learning by doing.”  I spent the summer helping project managers, project engineers and superintendents alike running their work, not standing by a copy machine.  I am very happy to have taken in so much and gained so much experience.  Now I know I can go back to school and really apply the things I learned this summer to my schoolwork.

My internship in the Marketing department has given me the opportunity to work on proposals, presentations, ad campaigns, special research projects, and a lot of other things that have come up along the way.  My supervisor was eager to give me a broad range of experience, which will be very beneficial to me in the long run.  He was very concerned with what he could do for me to make this internship a positive experience, which is definitely unique.  I did not feel like “just an intern” while I was at Alberici because I was treated like a full member of the team.
