State of Missouri Northeast Correctional Center

The Northeast Correctional Center is built on a 112-acre site in Bowling Green, MO.  The facility contains ten housing units, a central services building, adminstration and maintenance builiding, a power plant, and two recreational facilities.

Alberici Constructors used tunnelforming to cast cells on the project site, eliminating the need to transport heavy and bulky precast sections.  The use of tunnelforms resulted in consistent, predictable schedules and made the most efficient use of on-site labor.  By tunnelforming, three walls and the floor slab are cast simultaneously, resulting in a sturdier structure with fewer joints that need welding or caulking. Security bars, electric and plumbing lines can be integrated into the concrete.  Wall coatings can be eliminated with this method as well as the use of pre-manufactured or assembled components for closets, cabinets and other fixtures.

This innovative use of technology led to a swift and safe project finish.
